Ryan Robinson, L-3 Communications Fellow and Ph.D. student in aerospace engineering advised by department chair Norm Wereley, won first place in the Student Hardware Competition at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Smart Materials, Adaptive Structures, and Materials Systems Conference for his technical paper and hardware demonstration of "Model-Based Feedforward Control of a Robotic Manipulator with Pneumatic Artificial Muscles."

This is part of a project in collaboration with Curt Kothera at Techno-Sciences Inc. under Small Business Innovations Research/Small Business Technology Transfer funding from the Telemedicine Advanced Technology Research Center at Ft. Dietrick, Md.
