The Maryland Robotics Center is organizing an autonomous robotics competition to design and build a mobile robotic platform that can navigate through a cluttered environment to find and transport objects.

The competition will take place this coming June in the Maryland Robotics Center’s Robotics Realization Lab (exact date to be determined).

This challenge is open to University of Maryland undergraduate and graduate student teams of two to five people. There are slots for a maximum of 10 teams to participate. A mobile platform will be provided for all teams. Teams can also request additional support which will be provided upon approval from the competition organizers.

The winning team will receive $1000, and the second-place team will receive $500.

Teams seeking to enter the contest should email Ivan Penskiy, who will send a detailed entry form.

Read the competition rules here. The deadline for submissions to enter for the competition is February 18. Teams selected for the competition will be announced shortly after that date.
