Dean Darryll Pines has announced the winners of the Dean's Master's Student Research Award Competition for 2011:

First Place ($1,500):

Pranay Seshadri, Aerospace Engineering
Advisor: Professor Inderjit Chopra
“Aerodynamics and Control Towards A Biomimetic Hovering Flapping Wing Vehicle”

Second Place ($1,000):

Golnaz Khorsa, Civil and Environmental Engineering
Advisors: Professors Allen Davis and Alba Torrents
“The Production and Fate of Fats, Oils, Grease from Small Dairy-Based Food Service Establishments”

Dean Pines created the Dean's Master's Student Research Award Competition to give top Clark School master's student researchers special recognition that will be valuable in launching their careers, and to show all students the importance of high quality engineering research. Students submitted their work through competitions at the unit level. Members of the Clark School Board of Visitors served as judges for this competition.
